Living like Jesus and sharing him with others to advance the Kingdom of God
Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about our services? Then check out the following frequently asked questions.
Where do I park?
There is very limited parking directly outside the front of the church. To avoid inconveniencing our neighbours, if possible, please park at Riverhead Infants’ School (barrier code available from the church sec. or administrator). However, if you have little children or are elderly then please feel free to park outside the church.
What should I wear?
Jeans, shorts, casuals, suit – anything that makes you feel comfortable.
Where should I sit?
Anywhere you like - occasionally seats are reserved for special services (these are marked by a sign at the ends of the rows). Space can be made available for wheelchair users (just ask one of the welcomers as you arrive).
Who will I meet ?
People of all ages regularly attend our church. We are a friendly church so expect someone to say hello! Tea and coffee are served in the hall after the morning service.
How long will the service last ?
Approximately 75 minutes (All-age services - usally on the fourth Sunday of the month - are slightly shorter).
What facilities are available for children and babies?
Crèche facilities are available at every morning service, but if you would like your baby / toddler to stay with you through the service that’s fine. The crèche is split in to two groups – babies & toddlers.
For 3 - 11 year olds, there is Powerhouse out in the Church halls - for the first past of the morning the children enjoy teaching, worship and activities together. Mid-morning the children split into their various teaching groups (age specific).
Is there a money collection ?
Yes there is a collection although many regular attendees give by bank standing order. If you have not come prepared for this, don’t worry, just pass the bag on to the next person.
What other facilities are available ?
We have a hearing aid loop and provide printed song sheets. There is also an area at the front of the church set aside for prayer. If at any stage of the service you would liek prayer, please come forward and one of the Prayer Team will pray with you.
What is Communion ? Can I take part?
Generally on the 1st and 3rd Sunday mornings, and the 4th evening of each month the services include Communion, and all are welcome to participate. In these services, bread and (non-alcoholic) wine are served to remember Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection.
